Description
SOHMO Lecco Scissors – Handmade Italian Embroidery Scissors with 24k Gold-Plated Handles
Handmade in Italy. 24k gold-plated handles. Knife-edge blades sharp enough to cut a single thread cleanly.
Every sewing kit has one pair of scissors that’s just for show, and one pair that actually gets used. These are meant to be the second kind, even though they look suspiciously like the first. SOHMO Lecco Scissors are handmade in Italy from nickel-plated carbon steel. The handles are plated in 24k gold, which gives them a warmth and weight that sets them apart from every other pair in the room, whether they’re sitting in a project bag or on display where everyone can see them.
At 3½” overall, with a 35mm blade, these are built for the fussy, precise work: snipping embroidery threads flush to the fabric, trimming appliqué edges, getting into corners where a bigger pair of scissors just shrugs and gives up.
The knife-edge blades are both straight, both sharp to the very tip, and meet with the clean, exact action that only proper Italian scissors deliver. Handle them with a bit of care and they’ll outlast most things in your sewing room.
Named after Lecco, the Italian city on the shores of Lake Como in the Lombardy region, an area with a centuries-long tradition of fine metalwork and craftsmanship, and clearly not a bad place to learn how to make a pair of scissors.
Presented in a sturdy gift box with foam insert, complete with care instructions and a microfibre cloth to maintain the gold finish. Ready to give, and worth giving.
This is the gift for the embroiderer, hand sewist, or slow stitcher who deserves something a bit special, or the pair you quietly buy yourself and don’t mention to anyone.
